Apple : Next Big Thing. A 360° Rotating Robotic Home Assistant

Apple is developing a home assistant in the form of a robotic device for communication

The company is developing a home assistant as a robotic arm with an iPad-style display that can tilt and rotate 360°, writes Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman. According to him, the project team includes several hundred people.
The desktop device supports several functions, allowing you to control a smart home, participate in video conferences, monitor home security, and much more.

Gurman previously said that Apple is working on robotics products. Now he notes that the robotic device project is headed by Apple’s Vice President of Technology Kevin Lynch.

Bloomberg sources shared that the company plans to release the product in 2026 or 2027. Its cost may be about $ 1 thousand.

The solution will be able to respond to commands using Siri or functions within Apple Intelligence. For example, the device can be asked to tilt the screen towards the user during a video call.

Apple is currently testing models running a “customized version” of iPadOS. Rumors of a robotic arm follow the cancellation of the Apple Car electric vehicle project and the release of the Vision Pro mixed reality headset.

What will the assistant from Apple be like?

A key element of this new product is its screen, which can tilt and rotate 360 degrees on a thin robotic arm. This design greatly improves the user experience. Imagine a FaceTime call where the screen automatically turns toward you or adjusts the angle of the screen during a meeting with a simple voice command. This flexibility transforms this device from simple technology into an adaptive companion for your daily life.

Voice commands like “look at me” can make Siri even more useful. This help you to easily control smart home devices, video calls, and security monitoring hands-free.

In terms of design, this home assistant follows Apple’s approach to combining simplicity with functionality. The robotic arm will be sleek and will fit harmoniously into any room.

In terms of functionality, the device is extremely versatile. It can become the main control center for smart home devices such as lighting and thermostats. Its ability to rotate and adjust makes it valuable in the kitchen. Additional safety features, such as remote monitoring via camera, add even more practical value, making it a versatile tool for everyday life.
