When Hezbollah ‘s attack occurs

The attack comes as Egypt is in the midst of a new round of continued fire. Israel’s wars against Hamas have been going on for 11 months.

Israel had anticipated this evidence. Last week, Israel’s defense minister said he was moving more troops to the Lebanese border. There could be fighting there, backed by Iran.

Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said on Sunday: “In self-defense, to prevent these threats, [the Israeli military] is striking terrorist criminals in Lebanon, from where Hezbollah planned to launch its operations in the Israeli world.”

“We see that Hezbollah has launched a large-scale attack on Israel, posing a threat to the Lebanese residents of the world,” he added, without elaborating. “We warn the world of the residents in the areas where they operate, immediately exclude the target area for their own safety,” he added. Lebanese media reported strikes in the south of the country. No details. Footage is all over social media, which in turn is unfavorable, of strikes in southern Lebanon.

The grouping began attacking Israel almost immediately after the war with Hamas erupted on October 7 with a cross-border attack by Hamas. Israel and Hezbollah have been firing almost daily, displacing tens of thousands of people on both sides of the border. There have also been concerns that the fighting could escalate into a full-scale war. But until Sunday, both sides were careful to avoid a wider conflict.

Hezbollah’s power

Hezbollah was considered far more powerful than its ally Hamas. It has an estimated arsenal of 150,000 missiles and rockets, including precision-guided missiles. In recent months, the group has also stepped up its use of drones, which Israel is less well-defended against. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said there was a “special situation on the external front” and Netanyahu’s security cabinet was due to meet later Sunday.
